Salve apro questo spazio dedicato alle navi civili e militari straniere che riportano i loro annulli su documenti viaggiati. Inizio con una cartolina inviata dalla nave giapponese CHICHIBU MARU annullante i f.bolli con il timbro del 14 Maggio 1931, che era una nave passeggeri giapponese rinominata successivamente KAMAKURA MARU. Fu affondata durante il secondo conflitto Mondiale, facendo più di duemila vittime tra militari e civili a bordo, e della quale fornisco i dettagli recuperati dal web.Saluti Riccardo.

Il Chichibu Maru è stato costruito per la compagnia di navigazione Nippon Yusen dalla ditta Yokohama Dock nel 1930. Aveva un raggio di 22,6 metri, una lunghezza di 178 metri e una tonnellata di 17,498. La velocità di crociera era di 19 nodi, con un massimo di 21 nodi. La nave potrebbe portare 817 passeggeri.

Prima della guerra, la nave trasportava passeggeri tra Yokohama e San Francisco . Anche il Principe Takamatsu e la principessa Takamatsu hanno viaggiato su questa nave. Ha cambiato il suo nome due volte: prima ha ripetuto Titibu Maru nel 1938, a seguito dell'adozione della romanizzazione di Kunrei-shiki ; poi - dopo aver realizzato la somiglianza del nome con "tit" (un termine inglese volgare indicante il seno femminile) - rinominato Kamakura Maru nel 1939.

Nel 1942 fu confiscata dalla Marina giapponese Imperiale per servire come nave da trasporto di truppe, e anche come nave ospedaliera.

Il 28 aprile 1943, il Kamakura Maru , navigando da Manila a Singapore e portando circa 2500 soldati e civili, fu silurato dal sottomarino statunitense USS Gudgeon . La nave è stata colpita da due siluri e affondata entro 12 minuti. Quattro giorni dopo, 465 sopravvissuti sono stati salvati dal mare da navi giapponesi, mentre circa 2.035 persone sono rimaste vittime dell'affondamento.

January 1941:
Departs Yokohama for San Francisco. Among her passengers is newly appointed Japanese ambassador to the United States, Admiral Nomura Kichisaburo. KAMAKURA MARU calls at Honolulu where Admiral Nomura is greeted by Admiral James O. Richardson, CINCUSFLT at Pearl Harbor. On 11 February, Nomura assumes his duties in Washington.
April 1941:

Departs San Francisco for Yokohama. Among KAMAKURA MARU's passengers is Shigemitsu Mamoru former Japanese Ambassador to Great Britain who is enroute home after having been recalled by Tokyo.

Melbourne, Australia. Exchange vessel SS CITY OF CANTERBURY embarks the Japanese Minister (Ambassador) to Australia Kawai Tatsuo and 870 other Japanese officials and their families and a few Siamese nationals for repatriation. Minister Kawai takes aboard four white boxes containing the ashes of Japanese midget submariners killed in the 31 May 1942 attack on Sydney Harbor .
6 September 1942:
Arrives at Delagoa Bay, Lourenco Marques, Portuguese East Africa. Japanese passengers are disembarked from CITY OF CANTERBURY and embarked on KAMAKURA MARU where Minister Kawai places the four white boxes ashes on a large altar in front of a Rising Sun flag. The ship loads 47,710 Red Cross parcels for POWs in the Far East.
The western nationals are disembarked from KAMAKURA MARU. 115 Australian, British and Allied nationals are embarked on CITY OF CANTERBURY for the return voyage to Australia. Other repatriates wait for transportation on other vessels.
11 September 1942:
KAMAKURA MARU arrives at Singapore. Disembarks 289 Japanese and delivers 14,770 parcels for POWs.
4 October 1942:
Arrives at Hong Kong. Delivers 32,940 parcels for POWs.
8 October 1942:
Arrives at Yokohama. Minister Kawai hands over the boxes of ashes to relatives of the midget submariners. Radio Tokyo calls their return a chivalrous act by Australia that "greatly impresses" Japan.

At 2315, LtCdr William S. Post’s GUDGEON (SS-212) sights a large ship zig-zagging on southerly course at 10-17-48N, 121-44E, later identified as KAMAKURA MARU.
28 April 1943:
Sulu Sea, 30 miles SW of Naso Point, Panay, Philippines. At 0104, LtCdr Post fires a spread of four torpedoes at the target making 18 knots 3,200 yards away. Two minutes later, two torpedoes hit KAMAKURA MARU starboard side in her No. 4 hold and auxiliary machinery compartment; a heavy fire breaks out at the stern. Twelve minutes later, she suddenly upends and goes down by the stern at 10-25N, 121-440E. At 0140, the surfaced GUDGEON passes through the area where the ship went down, and sights a dozen lifeboats, floating debris and a large number of survivors.
2 May 1943:
After the estimated time of arrival of KAMAKURA MARU passes, the IJN command in the Philippines issues orders to commence a search for her. Only 28 sailors (of 176) and 437 passengers are eventually rescued.
31 May 1943:
Removed from the Navy list.

Feldpost M 20333 apparteneva al Cacciatorpediniere tedesco Friedrich Lui varato nel 1937 e affondato nel mare di Barents il 31.12.42 nello scontro a fuoco con gli incrociatori inglesi che scortavano il convoglio "JW-51 B" di aiuti alla Russia.

Cacciatorpediniere tedesco Erich Steinbrinck (sigla Z15) 14.12.42 FP M 14891. Nel 1945 consegnato alla Russia come riparazioni di guerra che lo utilizzò come nave scuola e caserma, venduto come rottame nel 1958

P.M. M07330 Cacciatorpediniere Georg Thiele (Z2) varato il 13 agosto 1935. Partecipò alla prima e seconda battaglia di Narvik in Norvegia. In quest'ultima battaglia fu seriamente danneggiato il 13.4 40 e fu fatto spiaggiare per salvare l'equipaggio.

Feldpost 21579 del Cacciatorpediniere Herman Schoemann (Z7) 20.9.39.Da notare l'annullo di partenza con la località scalpellata
Questa unità è parte di una serie di 16 varate tra il 1937-38 note col nome " Classe 1934."
Questa unità fu affondata dagli inglesi nel Mare di Barens durante l'Operazione Cerberus che scortavano il convoglio PQ 11 diretto al porto di Arcangelo in Russia.Posto i nomi di tutti i cacciatorpedinieri della serie.

Cacciatorpediniere "Hans Lody" (z10) 16.3.41 a Brema.Feldpost M 24888. Partecipò a minare le coste inglesi causando la perdita di 7 navi e un cacciaporpediniere, poi trasferito in Francia e Norvegia. Partecipò all'Operazione "Zitronella" all'isola Spitzbergen al Polo Nord per distruggere un insediamento inglese.L'ultima missione il 7 maggio 1945 ha salvato nella penisola di Hela 1500 rifugiati tedeschi fuggiti dalla Prussia orientale ai russi.Al 1945 assegnato alla Royal Navy che lo usò come nave scuola , demolito nel 1949.
